It’s time for a new approach
The current way of doing things isn’t working, and here’s why:

When you go on a restrictive diet, whether to lose weight or try and manage a health condition, your body perceives the situation as stressful and potentially dangerous. Why? Because we need to eat to survive. As a result, it will increase levels of your hunger hormone ghrelin, in an attempt to get you to eat. Science fact: Dieting actually makes you more hungry in the long run (and you thought it was all in your head, right?)
What’s more, this unwanted ‘side effect’ from dieting is amplified if you already have underlying issues with hormonal balance, including your stress hormones (the constant preoccupation with food is stressful, isn’t it?) female hormones, thyroid or insulin levels.
Consider: As women, the hormones oestrogen and progesterone both play direct roles in our appetite. These hormones fluctuate throughout the month, and indeed through our lifetime, so an ‘eat the same way every single day’ approach just won’t work for you.

Eating is emotional. There is no way of avoiding it, and nor should we want to. The issue is that you’ve been programmed to look at the emotions you currently associate with eating through the wrong lens, if at at all.
When we eat our brain releases feel-good chemicals, because it knows eating is important for survival. There are two ways to look at this scenario. The first is to acknowledge that the way we eat can reinforce entrenched behaviours around food that could be seen as a problem for things like sugar cravings, but on the other hand, we can use this knowledge to manipulate our brain chemistry - through food - to work in our favour. Additionally, by reframing our thought processes around food, we can totally reset our relationship with it.
It’s very common to eat in response to an emotion such as boredom, sadness, relief or elation! Emotions are not ‘good’ or ‘bad’ they just are. However, at the moment you’re not really tuned into walking alongside your emotions in a way that allows you to recognise, acknowledge and process them without food.
Consider: Eating in response to emotion has been shown to only make someone feel ‘better’ for around 3 minutes, whereas if that same person uses strategies to help them to usefully acknowledge their emotions without using food, that ‘better’ feeling lasts for way, way longer.

It would be very easy for me to sit at my desk and write you plan by regurgitating everything I know about nutrition and physiology. That would be so simple for me, and on paper it should work, but in reality it’s doomed to failure. This is because you have a unique life, and one I could never account for in a one-dimensional food plan. Your routine, work/life balance, shopping habits, food preferences, ability to cook, desire to eat, sleep patterns, energy levels, resilience to stress, and life stage are all totally personal to you: And they matter!
The fact is that studies show how difficult it is to follow restrictive diets due to the fact that we are all living in, and exposed to, different environmental inputs and influences. But honestly, when you think about it, we don’t need a study to tell us what common sense should already alert us to. My hunch is that you’ve already made this discovery for yourself, but now you just need help in knowing what to do next.
Consider: Instead of you fitting into a pre-prescribed diet ‘plan’, why not demand that the plan comes to meet you where you’re currently at? How great would it feel to have the knowledge, confidence and freedom to take ownership for yourself, along the mastery to be able to adapt things on your own to fit into the inevitable ups-and-downs of life?

From my earliest clinic days, and as a nutrition academic, I identified that restriction and fear about food play a destructive role in my clients' physical and emotional health. I further studied the psychology of eating, an area I am passionate about, to complement my earlier studies in nutrition science and health physiology.
I’ve learned so much from the 1,000+ clients I’ve worked with and the many nutrition students and graduates I have tutored and mentored.
Restriction can come in many forms, whether related to specific foods or food groups, calories, ingredients, pleasure, or beliefs. I have always talked above the noise and language of restriction. I have never found it to be a helpful enabler of good health, especially over the long term.
For me, well-being is about being happy and healthy. And to be happy and healthy, we must be free to take true ownership of our decisions about what and how we eat from a place of security and peace. My twenty years in clinic working with over a thousand clients has taught me that huge transformation - both in terms of how you feel about food and how you feel from a health perspective - is possible and can be truly life-changing.

However, I don't believe in adding to the diet culture narrative by promising big weight loss results, as in honesty, it's not ethical.

Each video module should take you around 60-90 minutes to complete, but you may decide to spend a bit more time or listen to the content more than once. This is not a hardcore training course taking up time in your already hectic schedule, you can journey through the material however it works for you. Once the course starts, you will gain access to all material if you’ve paid in full. Or, a new module will become available to you if you’ve opted for the instalment plan within the Liberate portal every week until all 12 modules are with you.
You'll be able to access your membership portal through my website, or through an App on your phone or tablet. It's been designed to be an easy and informative listen if you just want to sit back and relax, but it also offers the opportunity to dig deeper into the content if you want to.
