Life as a self-employed nutritional therapist, or nutrition student can feel lonely and confusing sometimes.

Isolation, low confidence, limiting beliefs and lack of clarity can result in all that hard work - all that time and money you spent qualifying - going to waste.

But you are not alone. We all experience fears and challenges, so let’s support each other and face them together. Wouldn’t it be good to have regular ‘team meetings’ in the diary with a familiar group of colleagues to discuss things with?

Friendships that support mastery in clinical confidence

Small groups, familiar faces, regular contact. My clinical support groups are not drop-in style sessions where you have a limited time to talk about your case and be given a protocol; they are much more personal and detailed than that. Yes, we discuss cases, tests, supplements, drug-nutrient interactions, dietary support and so on, but we also look at how you are working with your client, what’s going well (and what what isn’t), and strategies for approaching client work with a view to it shaping a developing, successful business.

Our meetings together provide a regular, twice monthly online learning space for you and other nutritional therapists to discuss your work and engage in conversation about the clinical application of nutrition and lifestyle medicine, business, and personal development in depth. When you join you’ll be allocated your very own small group, matched with peers who are similar to you. We will see each other every other week, in our small group setting. My promise to you is that your group will always stay low in numbers and friendly, and that we will all get to know each other really well as a result. And if you can’t make a meeting, need to arrive late or leave early, no problem! I’ll send you a recording afterwards, so you don’t miss anything.

You don’t have to be seeing lots of clients to join. I am very happy for you to simply listen and absorb, and I’d love to help you take those first steps or support you in getting your business to where you want it to be. Practitioners are welcome to join at any point in their careers. All levels of experience are welcome, and I currently support students and new graduates taking their first steps as clinicians through to established practitioners with many years of experience. I’ll match you with a group that’s right for you.

We discuss client cases with compassion, along with a wide range of other subjects that support the ethical, practical, and evidence-based clinical application of nutrition and lifestyle medicine.

We also talk about business strategies and share ideas, often addressing mindset and limiting beliefs. You’ll gain the clarity, confidence and skill to build a thriving business on your own terms.

I am such a believer in the power of conversation to facilitate the expansion of knowledge and experience. Our friendly get-togethers enable you to create and build a happy working life within the nutrition and wellbeing industry.

Groups are deliberately kept small, because I want to foster our friendship, and support you in feeling free to share your questions without fear of judgement or ego. All meetings are run by me personally.

Many members have been involved in the groups since they were first formed back in 2019! It’s been a privilege to watch so many develop from students all the way through to present-day; having busy, happy businesses where they feel confident to practice in a style and approach that suits them as individuals.

I would love to get to know you and support you with your work too!

confidence

Relax in a safe and kind space to talk through your cases and gain support with your approach to working with clients. Or simply just sit back, listen and absorb from others. As we work in small, allocated groups you’ll feel more inclined to actually attend, and benefit from an ongoing conversation about your approach to working as we get to know each other.

“Nicola brings a wealth of knowledge, warmth and humour to the support group and I have learnt so much.  I have observed Nicola give advice on a range of different cases and I have found this invaluable as both a student and now as a practitioner.  We discuss the many different angles you can approach a case from and I'm always learning about a fresh approach with food, lifestyle and supplement ideas. I always leave the support group feeling educated,  inspired and eager to see my clients with some new tricks up my sleeve! I’m convinced that if I hadn’t joined, I’d probably still be stalling about seeing my first client as a graduate. The group was my “push” and safety blanket all in one. I can’t imagine practicing, even with more experience, without a group like this! I believe this is ESSENTIAL for career development and giving my clients the best possible service."

“When you finally graduate as a nutritional therapist, it can be both exhilarating and frightening. How to start, to take great case histories, to give the best advice, to know everything there is to know about nutrition - these were only some of the worries I had after graduation. When I started attending the monthly group coaching sessions, I had started seeing some clients, but was still terrified. As most of the nutritionists in my group shared similar anxieties, Nicola encouraged and helped us to find our own individual ways of working with clients. There were so many ‘aha’ moments and with every session I found myself relaxing more and more (also because Nicola is a very warm and friendly person). I cannot recommend working with Nicola enough, I am forever grateful to have found her coaching, which has put me at ease and taught me to enjoy the process.” - Ernesta Jakučionė

passion project

Nicola Moore Nutrition @eddie.judd.branding

I have worked as a practising nutritional therapist for 20 years, and in addition, spent 12 wonderful years on the senior academic team at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION). During that time I observed and facilitated thousands of hours of student clinics. I held the post of Head of Clinics for my final 4 years at ION, where I was responsible for building a successful graduate mentoring programme and driving the continued improvement of standards and practices. During that time, I was deeply involved in strategy and planning and was fortunate to have the support of an incredible team working with me to implement my vision.

My own private practice has been a labour of love from day one, and I have always thrived in the clinic environment. I have built a wealth of knowledge, experience, and resources over the years, and have benefitted hugely from working with some of the best nutritional therapists in the business. Today, I share this knowledge through my private clinic and online programs, as well as continuing as a visiting lecturer at ION, and partnering with like-minded brands. I also frequently speak at industry events and have my own sponsored podcast, Healthily. I’ve been featured in the mainstream media and have had many 'pinch me' moments over the years as I've reached my goals, one-by-one. It can feel hard to make it in this business, but in my opinion there has never been a better time to get involved. Yes, hard work is required, but you have already proved you have the grit and determination needed, simply by graduating!  I hope to inspire the members of my clinical support groups, and show that it is possible to create a sustaining career for yourself. If I can do it, so can you.

Many practitioners simply don't get the support, space and advice they need to succeed. Nor the opportunity to regularly talk about clinical cases, or continue learning through conversation and shared experience. This is why I started the clinical support groups.

It can be an isolating experience being a nutritional therapist, and I for one have always benefitted from talking through cases with colleagues. I hope to help you with your cases now, in a forum that’s relaxed and friendly. What I am offering is a caring expert and team in your corner to help you grow your confidence, clinical skills, knowledge, and business. Come on, lets get your good clinic feelings on!
